In recent years, Wuhai City has accelerated technological transformation, vigorously developed circular economy, low-carbon economy, and extended the industrial chain. The development level, scale and level of coal chemical industry and chlor-alkali chemical industry have reached new heights, and some aspects have reached domestic and even world leading levels.
By increasing their support to key enterprises, they have implemented a number of key projects with large-scale investment, good economic benefits, and strong driving capabilities around the coal chemical and chlor-alkali chemical industries. Eight million-ton coal coking projects including Shenhua Wuhai Energy Co., Ltd. have been completed, with a production capacity of 9 million tons; PVC projects such as Wuhai Chemical have been put into production successively, with a production capacity of 1.2 million tons, accounting for about 1/7 of the national production of PVC produced by calcium carbide. A number of recycling and extending industrial chain projects such as Black Cat Carbon Black have been put into production one after another, and the industrial structure has accelerated to deep processing.
