Because some gas heating processes have strict requirements on sulphur, cold clean coal gas has to go through desulphurization processing before being transported to gas points. At present, coal gas desulphurization processing has desulphurization of dry method and desulphurization of wet method.

Desulphurization of dry method is of simple technology and convincible reliability. This method can remove hydrogen sulfide in coal gas, cyanide, nitrogen oxide and tar fog withd esulphurization of high degree purification. At present activated carbon and artificial ferric oxide are primarily used as desulfurizer.


Desulphurization of wet method is classified into physical solvent process, chemical solvent process and direct conversion method. Desulphurization of wet method is made up of assimilation and regeneration. The objective of assimilation is to absorb hydrogen sulfide of coal gas by absorbent so that desulfhurized coal gas is in accordance to process requirement. Regeneration recycles sulfur of absorbent of hydrogen sulfide.


Because the gas use in gas points is unstable(intermittent production and big fluctuation on air use volume ) and the mixed coal gas producer must produce gas consecutively, it is necessary to build gasometer to store coal gas to reduce the time of preheating the furnace and to save fuel.


The operation of coal gas station generates a certain amount of polluted water containing phenol. This polluted water will has detrimental influence on body health and needs to be dealt with. Build the phenol water incinerator to heat and decompose phenol water by using coal gas produced or tar as fuels. In high temperature, phenol water is decomposed into CO2 and H2O that is harmless.
